Agave Majestic (Franzosinii)
Agave Majestic (Franzosinii)
Agave america var. franzosinii, also referred to as Agave franzosinii or Agave beaulueriana, is an evergreen plant belonging to the family Asparagaceae, specifically the subfamily Agavoideae. This agave variety is extensively cultivated in various regions, recognized by multiple names interchangeably. It can grow up to 6’ tall and 8’ wide. Cold hardy to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The leaves of the agave have small serrated edges. Like most agaves, the Franzosinii is monocarpic and will spike a death bloom at the end of its life cycle, typically 15 - 25 years of age. Fortunately, many offsets (pups) will be produced in its lifetime, restarting the life cycle.
Plants are shipped bare root. Most specimens will be singles. Soil used to repot should be easy draining. Water again only once soil is nearly dry.
