Agave Snow Glow
Agave Snow Glow
Agave 'Snow Glow' is a beautiful smaller agave known for its striking features. Also sometimes referred to as a variegated Agave Blue Glow. It forms primarily solitary rosettes that grow slowly to about 2 feet tall and 3 feet across. The blue-green leaves can grow approximately 18 inches long and 1-1 1/2 inches wide. They display smooth, toothless red margins near the leaf tip and small soft teeth below, with a solid cream-colored band running along the entire length of the leaf. The leaves are capped with a short red terminal spine.
This agave thrives in full sun and requires minimal irrigation. While its exact hardiness is not definitively known, the parent plant of this sport has withstood temperatures below 20°F, suggesting that 'Snow Glow' can likely handle similar conditions. In the Coachella Valley, this specimen is best placed where it gets shade from the hot afternoon Summers.
Agave 'Snow Glow' originated from Agave 'Blue Glow,' a hybrid of Agave ocahui and Agave attenuata.
Plants are shipped bare root. Most specimens will be singles. Soil used to repot should be easy draining. Water again only once soil is nearly dry.
