Fishhook Barrel Cactus (Ferocactus Wislizeni)
Ferocactus wislizeni, commonly known as the Arizona barrel cactus or fishhook barrel cactus, is a species of cactus native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. It belongs to the genus Ferocactus, which is characterized by its barrel-shaped, ribbed stems and long, hooked spines. Ferocactus wislizeni typically has a cylindrical or barrel-shaped body covered in yellow or tan spines, with central spines that are often curved like fishhooks, giving it its common name. It can grow to be quite large, with some individuals reaching several feet in height. This cactus species is well adapted to arid desert environments and is known for its striking appearance in the wild and as a popular ornamental plant in xeriscaping and desert gardens.
Plants are shipped bare root. Most specimens will be single stalk. Soil used to repot should be easy draining. Water again only once soil is nearly dry.
